SS2 Diesel Heater Toolbox Compact1-SE, 5L Plateau Mode

Used this heater to heat a 16' enclosed camp trailer. Very nice small enclosure, capable of operating outside the trailer, with a duct piping the hot air in. Ran it on highest setting during snowy nights, ran all night and kept the trailer warm. Used about half of the 6L fuel tank to heat for the entire evening. The wireless remote works well also. We were able to operate the heater from inside the trailer.....felt a little fancy!

This diesel electric heater comes with power adapter, wire harness, exhaust silencer, exhaust pipe, intake pipe, air outlet pipe, air filter, vents, and a manual It also comes with hose clamps and hardware to facilitate attachment. It also has a remote and an LCD display embedded on the top. The unit looks like a toolbox with a red handle that runs horizontally and two latches on the front. The unit puts out a tremendous amount of heat within 10 minutes my entire RV is toasty. I like that I don't have to refill it often a tank seems to last. If you're at high altitude it has a setting to compensate for that. I like that it has an app for my smartphone so I can control it very easily.

Works excellent...easy to use. Exhaust has minimal smell. I use to blow heat under mobile home to help prevent freezing water pipes in below zero weather. Highly recommend!

Although I really like that this comes as an "all in one" unit. It really is just a diesel heater, fuel tank, and all the controls inside carrying case. You still need to make sure you have a way to route the exhaust. (Which makes sense when you think about it.) I really like the design though. It's easy to move form the camper, to the garage, to the car, or anywhere else you need it. The portability really is awesome. The setup was pretty easy. I just added fuel and power and after the pump primed for a few minutes it fired right up. (It takes a minute or two to get fuel to the combustion chamber the first time and I couldn't get the "initial prime" to work from the controller.) The instructions for the controller are a little difficult. I tried reading through them a few times and pressing the buttons referenced, but without success. I'll have to play with it a little more to see if I can figure it out, but it DID provide heat and I could turn the heat up and down with the controller panel. That was good enough for that night. It makes all the noises you hear about on other heater reviews. The pump clicks consistently like a Grandfather clock and the fan whir is pretty loud on high. I gave a generous 4 stars but I'm pretty happy with it. It would be 5 stars for sure if the controller was more intuitive and easier to use.

I've been running it all day for 6 days now, and shutting it off at night. It's very cold in colorado. Takes awhile to get my 2 car garage up to temp but it eventually becomes quite comfortable. I have to use it on high all day tho. Its a well insulated 2 car low ceiling garage. I weatherstripping and caulked many places so it's pretty weathertight. The Bluetooth app helps in the morning. I just turn it on when I wake up from my bedroom. So far I'd say I'm pleased. Wish it had slightly more power to be able to operate on a lower setting but my space size is stretching it for the size of this unit. You can't really beat the size, cost for the output, and ease of use. I just hope the longevity is there too but we shall see!
