1. What makes the TB2S different from the previous TB2 model?
The TB2S features an upgraded combustion chamber, an advanced fuel algorithm, and an automatic Start-Stop function. It delivers up to 36% higher fuel efficiency with faster heat-up and more stable performance—especially in cold or high-altitude environments.
2. Can this diesel heater be used at high altitudes?
Yes. The TB2S automatically adjusts combustion through its Altitude Mode, ensuring reliable performance up to 18,000 ft (5.5 km). It’s ideal for mountain trips, ski cabins, and high-elevation camping.
3. How loud is the TB2S during operation?
The redesigned 90mm air duct reduces airflow resistance and noise. At one meter, it measures around 65 dB (similar to a normal conversation). When installed outdoors or under a vehicle, the perceived noise level drops below 50 dB, ensuring a peaceful sleep.
4. How can I control the TB2S heater?
You can control it via the HCALORY mobile app (Bluetooth), ordinary remote control, or through the included LCD panel. Set temperature, timer, and monitor real-time status directly from your phone.
5. What power options does the TB2S support?
It supports both DC 12V/24V and AC 110V–220V/220V–240V through an optional AC/DC adapter, making it ideal for home use, RVs, trucks, cabins, and workshops.
6. How long can it run on a full tank?
With a 6L (1.59 gal) built-in tank and efficient fuel consumption of 0.03–0.1 gal/h, the TB2S can run up to 62.5 hours continuously—almost a full week of nighttime heating on one fill.
7. Is it safe to use indoors or overnight?
Yes. The TB2S is equipped with overheat and short-circuit protection, plus wireless temperature sensing via the Smart System. For safety, ensure proper ventilation when used in enclosed spaces.
8. Can the TB2S heater warm multiple areas in my RV or van?
Yes. You can pair the TB2S diesel heater with an optional 90mm Y Branch Air Ducting Connector to direct warm airflow into multiple zones of your RV, camper, or van. This add-on makes it easy to create a multi-room heating setup, improving comfort and efficiency for different areas.
9. Where should the TB2S not be used?
Do not operate the heater in environments with flammable vapors or dust, such as fuel depots, lumber yards, granaries, or gas stations. Keep it away from fuel tanks, compressors, fire extinguishers, clothing, and other flammable materials to prevent fire hazards.
10. How should I install the exhaust and ventilation system?
Keep all air inlets and exhaust pipes unobstructed to maintain safe ventilation. The metal exhaust pipe must always vent outdoors to prevent carbon monoxide from entering enclosed spaces. Avoid operating in sealed or poorly ventilated areas.
11. How can I get CO and temperature detection on my TB2S heater?
Purchase the compatible wireless remote separately—it integrates CO monitoring, temperature sensing, and smart control, all designed to work seamlessly with your TB2S.

I've had an interesting experience with this portable diesel heater, but overall, I'm really impressed with it. My first unit worked great for about 6-7 hours before the pump stopped working. I was using some very old, possibly contaminated diesel, so that might have been the issue.
Since I already knew the pump was the problem and didn't want to uninstall everything, I swapped the pump from the new unit to the old one. That solved the issue! The heater has been working flawlessly for about five days now. The swap took me about 1.5 hours since I was figuring things out as I went, but it was surprisingly easy to service.
Performance and Features:
This heater puts out a ton of heat and is perfect for my needs. I'm using it to warm up a 1000 sq. ft. space in sub-freezing temperatures, and it keeps the area warm enough to comfortably wear just a shirt. It uses about 1 gallon of diesel per day, which feels very efficient.
One of the standout features is the altitude sensor, which adjusts the fuel-to-air ratio based on air pressure. This ensures the cleanest and most efficient burn possible. It's even sensitive enough to account for normal changes in barometric pressure, which I find impressive.
I also measured the exhaust gases, and at max power, the temperature was around 70C, meaning minimal heat is lost through the combustion exhaust. Very efficient!
Setup Tips:
I mounted my unit indoors, but the included exhaust pipe was too short, so I had to buy a longer one. You'll also want an adapter to ensure that the hot exhaust pipe doesn't touch your walls, as it can get up to 220 C with the included short pipe (but much cooler with a longer one like mine). If noise is an issue, you can mount it outside and pipe the heated air inside, though that setup might require larger holes in your walls and a way to protect the heater from the rain.
User Experience:
The Bluetooth functionality is fantastic! I can monitor and control the heater from a few rooms away, which is incredibly convenient. It's a feature I wouldn't skip.
One minor inconvenience is that you can't easily see how much fuel is left without opening the unit. To fix this, I cut a small opening in the plastic lid to check the tank at a glance'problem solved in 15 minutes. The unit is generally easy to operate and service.
There were no leaks, except for one time when I overfilled the tank while it was running. Even then, the risk of fire is minimal since it's diesel. I haven't noticed any smell of fumes or fuel indoors. The outside combustion exhaust may have a slight odor during the initial start-up, but once it's running, the combustion is so efficient that there's almost no visible exhaust and there's zero smell.
Pros and Cons:
I love that you can set a specific temperature and let the heater adjust its power or even turn off altogether, all automatically based on room temp. Alternatively, you can manually set a fixed power level. The heater also comes with cables to connect to a 12V battery, though I've been running it from a wall outlet with no issues, using the included power adapter.
My only complaint is the noise. If you're using it in a living space, you might want to consider mounting it outside, though that comes with trade-offs in efficiency and bigger holes in your wall.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this is a fantastic heater, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It's powerful, efficient, and loaded with useful features. For a workspace or emergency heating, it's perfect for indoor use as long as you vent the exhaust gases properly. Highly recommended!
Test run in the ice shack in the garage it works great. I will just run the heater outside with the air return fed inside which will be no issue. It is very quiet and minimal odor you will not notice it if outside. It seems to be heating very well but will know more when I try it on the ice for the first time. So far highly recommend
Easy to hookup and runs quietly. Very efficient too
Very happy with this heater! The whole point of using this heater, for me at least, is to go out during the fall and spring shoulder seasons, which can have some decent precipitation where I live. I bought a little tarp that I'll hook to the underside of my camper, and then stake to the ground to act as a little tent and that works just fine to keep it dry. Anyways, on to my observations: The heat is awesome, I've only needed to use it on setting 3 at the most and it heats up my truck-bed camper just fine. The app is great, no complaints. The clicking noise of the fuel pump is fairly prominent at first, but it quiets down after about 20min - the heater has some sort of warming up period I think, not the initial start up, but I think it needs to pump and burn some fuel for a while (~20min) and then it sort of hits it's stride. The only noise apparent after 20min is a white noise of the engine and blower, which like I said is white noise and quite nice to fall asleep to. I've had no leaks and I cant detect any overpowering smell. Only time it's not fun smell-wise is fueling it up at the gas station, but just be very careful and wipe down everything after you fuel it up and you'll be fine.
The unit performed well - as expected. It's a good design overall, functional and transportable. With the ability to control this unit by way of onboard display as well as a remote and simple (Bluetooth) software for your phone, monitoring and controlling this unit is super easy. The app is very simple, however it provides essential information like altitude, internal body temperature, ambient temperature and input voltage. It allows you to control fan speeds, thermostat and altitude settings.
